As part of its commitment to community development and social responsibility, LG Electronics Ghana has donated a mechanized borehole to Apra SDA Basic School (ASDA), benefiting both the school and the wider Gomoa Apra community in the Central Region of Ghana.
The commissioning ceremony, held on January 31, 2025, saw hundreds of jubilant residents, schoolchildren, and staff members celebrate the end of a persistent water crisis. The joyful atmosphere reflected the community's relief as a long-standing problem was finally resolved.

For decades, the community and the school had no reliable source of clean drinking water, forcing residents to rely on unsafe alternatives or travel long distances to fetch water.
According to the headmaster of Apra SDA Basic School, Mr. Isaac Forson the newly completed borehole will provide a lasting solution to these challenges.

"With this development, the community can now look forward to improved health conditions and a better standard of living, reducing the daily burden of accessing potable water from distant locations," he stated.
The borehole, which marks the first healthy water source for the community, is expected to significantly improve the community's health and well-being.

Speaking to the media, Larry Elluru, an executive member of LG’s Foundation, emphasized the importance of water in human life and LG’s dedication to supporting critical infrastructure projects.
"At LG, we believe access to clean water is fundamental to building healthier and more empowered communities. This borehole project is a testament to our long-standing commitment to creating a positive social impact and fostering sustainable growth. We are proud to support the Apra community with this meaningful initiative," he said.
The team pledged the company’s continued support for other deprived communities.
"We remain dedicated to social development and will continue to extend our support to communities in need," he promised.
The leadership of Apra SDA Basic School and community members expressed immense gratitude to LG Electronics for this life-changing project, acknowledging its positive impact on education and daily living standards.
The borehole now stands as a symbol of collaboration and progress, reinforcing LG’s dedication to fostering better living conditions and sustainable growth in under-served communities.
