The Retired Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) organizers of the retired footballers league will kick start the second edition of the oldies league on July 21, 2012.
The second edition of the league will feature nineteen clubs from the various communities in Accra and Tema metropolis. The zonal league will have three zones with some clubs standing by in their weekly pairings.
The participating clubs are Tema Ex Footballers, Ashaiman Oldies, Teshie Oldies, Uncle Stars, Ashiedu Keteke Oldies, Achimota Oldies, Cosmos Legends Oldies, Accra Newton Oldies, Scarp Rangers, Accra East Oldies, Accra Old Stars, Osu Salem Oldies, Liberty Oldies,Kotobabi Oldies, Madina Oldies, Nungua Oldies and Tema Veterans Club
The chairman of the association Alhaji Ibrahim Sunday believes this year’s edition will attract the necessary corporate attention.
“We are calling on all media houses to give as the necessary attention for us to succeed as an association”.
Some Ex players like Willie Klutse, John Eshun, Abedi Pele, Mohammed Polo, Dan Owusu will all be in action for their various communities.
