Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday came from a goal down to beat visiting Gamba All Blacks two goals to one to snatch the maximum three points of the second week fixture of the second round of the OneTouch Premier League match played at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
RTU started the game with less enthusiasm losing the 50-50 balls to the visitors, who received massive applause from the fans.
All Blacks were on top and made numerous incursions into the vital area of the host, but RTU goalie Mohammed Opash pulled up brilliant saves.
The visitors took advantage of a defensive blunder in the 40th minute and danger man Wilson Andoh slotted the ball into the net to register the first goal.
All Blacks kept on pilling the pressure but their attempt at goal were thwarted by goalkeeper Opash to end the first half 1- 0 in favour of the visitors.
RTU started the second half with early substitution by bringing in Abdul Hassan Salam for Alhassan Weah, which worked in their favour.
Substitute Salam was just too slippery for the All Blacks defence. He combined speed and excellent dribbling skills and this brought the stadium, which was dead silent, alive.
In the 53rd minute the diminutive brilliant player took the ball from centre, ran with it single-handedly like a hare to All Blacks goal area and gave a brilliant pass to Fataw Mohammed to head it home to cancel the lead.
The equaliser ignited the stadium and the supporters who could be heard threatening the Coach now sung praises of the team and Salam.
RTU from then on mounted a sustained pressure on the visitors and their efforts were rewarded in the 82nd minute when the diminutive Salam again had a pass and meandered his way through the All Blacks defence and slotted in the winner.
