Former Ghana number one goalkeeper Sammy Adjei says he will sign for a local team by the end of May if he has not secured a deal with a foreign club.
Adjei who last played his club football in Israel has been without a club since the end of the last Israeli League season and is desperate to play again.
"Me and my agent have an agreement by which he must find me a club by the end of May," he told KickOffGhana.com.
"If by then no deal is done I will look at re-joining Hearts or one of the local clubs be it AshantiGold or Asante Kotoko."
Adjei was first choice for the Black Stars until he was deposed by Richard Kingson in the build up to the 2006 World Cup. He claims his commitment to the national team has cost him his club career.
"I responded to every invitation but even for friendly games I was not given the opportunity to prove myself," he said.
"Ahead of the Nations Cup, my club warned that if I came they would sign another goalkeeper and they did. I played two crucial matches and when my contract ended the club just simply sent me back to Accra."
Adjei says the frustration from that episode forced him to quit the national team but says he won't say sorry to get back in.
"I have committed no crime so I don't have to say sorry. At the time I had given everything for the national team and had major issues with my club which the GFA knew about because I was coming down for Ghana games and not playing. I simply did what was good for myself at that time."
