Several people have been killed and injured after a bus crashed into a bus stop in central Stockholm, Swedish police say.
Circumstances surrounding the crash around 15:23 (14:23 GMT) on the Valhallavägen street in the Swedish capital remain unclear.
Police spokesperson Nadya Norton said the bus driver had been arrested and a manslaughter investigation had been opened as a matter of routine.
It is not clear if there were passengers on board. Police said they were not commenting on the number, gender or ages of those affected at this time.
The incident occurred near the Royal Institute of Technology university.
Images in local media show rescue crews appearing to help people trapped underneath the double-decker bus.
A witness who owns a shop on the street told SVT that the bus hit a pole in front of the bus shelter. They said several people ran into the shop crying.
"We do not yet know the cause of this, but right now my thoughts are foremost with those who have been affected and their families," said Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in a post on X.
