President John Mahama on Tuesday, March 24, led a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the African Burial Ground National Monument, honouring the memory of enslaved Africans and reflecting on their enduring legacy.
The commemorative event brought together a number of high-profile figures, including Zohran Mamdani and renowned civil rights activist Al Sharpton, who joined in paying tribute to the lives, resilience, and contributions of Africans who endured the horrors of slavery.
