Colombian superstar Shakira and her soccer star boyfriend Gerard Pique have received a late Christmas gift after welcoming their first child.
The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker gave birth to a son on Thursday and her elated partner took to his official Twitter.com account to share the happy news.
He writes in a post, "Our son has been born! We are very happy! Thank you to everyone for your messages!"
The name of the baby boy has not yet been released.
Shakira began dating sportsman Pique in 2011 after splitting from her longtime boyfriend Antonio de la Rua.
