Joy FM will on Saturday, 6th September 2025, bring together the Ghana Revenue Authority and stakeholders in the creative industry for a dialogue on taxes.
The 7th Showbiz Roundtable on Showbiz A-Z will focus on the theme: “GRA Vs. Creatives – Taxation and the Future of Ghana’s Creative & Digital Economy.”
The discussion will highlight the price of creativity and how taxation intersects with industry growth. It seeks to address concerns raised by players in the creative space about high taxes on cultural and creative activities, which many argue are making business in these fields difficult and unproductive.
Event organisers, DJs, MCs, artiste managers, bloggers, YouTubers and other stakeholders will be in attendance to ask the hard questions in an open, constructive forum.
This edition follows the 6th Showbiz Roundtable, which focused on creative mental health. That session featured artistes such as Ko-Jo Cue, broadcaster and counselling psychologist Natalia Andoh, and creative entrepreneur NanaYaw Wiredu, alongside health experts Nortey Dua and Dr Albert Sedohia, who shed light on mental health challenges in the creative sector.
Over the years, the platform has tackled themes such as safety after events, sponsorship for creative businesses, manifesto debates on the creative economy and mental health, reinforcing its role in interrogating how policy and creativity intersect.
The 7th Showbiz Roundtable airs at 2pm on 6th September 2025 on Joy 99.7 FM, powered by Joy Entertainment, and will also be broadcast live on Joy Prime television.
The programme is hosted by Kwame Dadzie and produced by Philip Nai, with production support from Anita Teye, Martin Kwadwo Asare and Olivier Fangon.
