In the heart of Aboabo near Kumasi is a young software developer who is giving back to society by equipping others to become computer programmers.
Zaidan Mustapha volunteers his time to teach both tertiary and senior high students how to code so they can be more efficient and effective in problem-solving.
For him, it is important to impart the knowledge he has acquired over years to people who need it.
At least, after him, many young people should be able step into his shoes.
Zaidan says code fuels the digital world and therefore every website, smartphone app, calculator among others relies on coding to function.
According to him, digital age builders are coders and every job is now affected by the need to at least understand programming and coding.
"It is therefore important for people to speak the language of coding." He says.
Programming or software development is a high-income skill.
When people become experienced in programming, there are no limits on income opportunities and personal growth.
That is why Zaidan Mustapha volunteers to teach young students like his age to familiarize themselves with coding.
The students are interested in programming works to improve their appreciation of the world.
About 48 teachers, students and other professionals benefit from the Zongo code bootcamp which will last 14 weeks.
Sham-an Ishaq for instance, wants to develop app for pragya riders so that users can make request at their convenience.
Other participants like Fridaus Adam and Mohammed Tophic Bashir are also learning to create a platform that will address challenges in their respective communities.
Zaidan calls it a privilege to teach and give back to society.
Purpose of technology, how execution is performed, various elements such as databases and models are defined by programming.
Without programming, computers and the internet do not exist. That means we can't connect with people.
