Gospel singer Selina Boateng has shared her thoughts on why some men choose to marry women with fame.
In an interview with Doreen Avio on Joy Prime’s Changes show, she revealed that some men do so intentionally to bring these women down.
“Some come purposely because of your fame. He’s coming to humble and control you so you won’t get the chance to even do the work of God,” she said.
According to her, their personal lives are different from their public image, but some men fail to understand this and end up having issues after marriage.
The award-winning musician added that their line of work is demanding, and unfortunately, they often do not marry partners who are supportive enough.
“The media and the work we’re doing is the problem. When you’re out there, people see you to be different but the character is a different thing all together. When you get home with the man or woman, that’s when the character comes out. You know the person when you’re in the house. So sometimes we don’t get the good people to support the ministry.”
Based on her experience, she has advised young women to be cautious with their marriage decisions and to put God first in the process.
“If you don’t have any relationship with God and the Holy Spirit is not with you, you’ll mislead yourself and choose the wrong person,” she advised.
