The Finance Ministry has dismissed media reports it has withdrawn the supplementary budget it put before Parliament on Wednesday.
A statement issued by the Public Relations officer of the Ministry said:
"The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) wishes to bring to the attention of the general public and all stakeholders that the Ministry has NOT, repeat NOT, withdrawn the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy and Supplementary Estimate presented to Parliament by the Hon Minister of Finance and Economic Planning on Wednesday July 18, 2012."
The statement further added "The Ministry has recalled the documents distributed to MPs for correction and not the one laid at the Clerks Table.
"The printed document distributed to members was found to contain typographical and formatting errors.
"The document laid at the Clerks Table by the Minister is still with Parliament.
"The correction has been effected and the document sent back to Parliament.
"We wish to reiterate that, the Ministry has not withdrawn the Supplementary Budget," the statement concluded.
