Three suspected cable thieves including two workers of Ghana Telecom (Gt) at Tarkwa have been arrested.
They are Nana Otoo, a driver and Ebenezer Baidoo, a security man both workers of Ghana Telecom and Kwame Takyi, also known as Bright, a sub-contractor of Ghana Telecom.
Police Chief Superintendent Daniel Sapart Sampana, Tarkwa Divisional Police Commander said Peter Ablordey a resident of Green Compound, a suburb of Tarkwa saw the suspects loading two fertilizer bags into a pick-up with registration number GW 5279 U belonging to the company.
Police Chief Superintendent Sampana said Ablordey became suspicious and informed some security personnel of Gold Fields Ghana Limited led by Peter Duodoo who arrested the suspects and handed them over to the police.
He said the police opened the bags and found some cables concealed in them and were investigating the issue.
