The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Techiman North is optimistic that the launch of three factories by the end of the year will reduce the youth employment in the area.
Peter Mensah is confident with the youth gainfully employed, they will not be a security threat to the district, region and country as a whole.
Speaking after inspecting ongoing projects, he said, “I am so surprised and overwhelmed with what has been done within this short space of time. This is an indication that these projects would be completed on time."
“Our youth need jobs and the President vision for them will be realised once these projects are completed and launched,” he added.
He told JoyNews’ Anass Sabit after a short tour of the ongoing projects that the move which forms part of strategies under the government’s industrialisation agenda would add value to the local economy, raise the Assembly's revenue.
Three projects under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s flagship One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) initiative in the Techiman North District will soon be completed.
The projects; a poultry feed processing factory under the Kingdom EXIM group of companies, a vegetable processing plant and cold rooms for the processing of onion, tomato, pepper etc as well as the revival of a defunct cashew plant Raj Kumar Impex.
Raj Kumar Impex will be investing in shea butter, cashew nut and soya bean processing.
The DCE was full of praise for the investors; James Gnanaraj Rajamani, Immanuel Paul Raj Rajamani both of Big Stars animal feeds, a subsidiary of Kingdom EXIM group for bringing development to the area.
