Regent (Fiadomegatala) Torgbi Sri III, the acting Awoamefia and the acting President of Anlo Traditional Council, who has been at the receiving end of attacks from his detractors, has finally broken his long silence on matters of the Anlo State. He said he is being wrongfully accused, because he has blocked the illegal activities of some members of the Anlo state. He said: “They have no case. They are doing all that, because I have stopped them from being visa contractors and extortionists." Accordingly, he said, his administration as it is now until a substantive King is installed, would not allow anybody to use the Council as a profit-making agency through extortion, but would endeavour to protect, promote and help with developmental achievements in the area. At the 40th anniversary celebration of the death of the late Lt. General E. K. Kotoka over the weekend at Fiaxor in the Volta region, under his distinguished leadership, Regent Sri said he would also help to facilitate the processes of selection, installation and even the out-dooring of the new king when chosen by the royal kingmakers of Awoamefia. Making his brief comments on the issues that have dominated the media in the past week, Regent Sri, who is now the pivot of development in the Anlo State, enumerated a lot of development projects under his jurisdiction especially at Fiaxor. He appealed to government to help tar the road from Kome junction to Fiaxor, an appeal to which, he said, the Volta Regional Minister has responded positively. The Acting President of ATC again urged the government to help build hospital or renovate the clinic in the area to address the health needs of the residents. Regent Sri, who indicated that, he is not perturbed by his detractors, told the gathering that, everything is on course, and said what worries him is the time and energy wasted to respond to frivolous allegations without merit, instead of focusing on matters that can provide food and jobs for the people under his reign.
