Forty people have been arrested by the police for allegedly attacking artisans in Cantonments, Accra, Friday.
The attackers claimed the artisans have unlawfully occupied a land that does not belong to them.
They therefore besieged the disputed land and attacked the artisans working on it.
DSP Freeman Tettey confirmed the arrests to Joy News' Evans Mensah.
He said the Police on hearing the information of the attack quickly dispatched men to the location to protect life and property.
He said the arrested persons had dangerous weapons in their possession.
DSP Tettey said the Police have begun investigations into the matter.
