The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has launched a website for the Upper West Region.
The website is said to be the first of its kind to be launched in the country by any of the regional coordinating councils.
The site profiles the Upper West Region, the mission, vision and composition of the Regional Coordinating Council, pictures of ongoing and finished projects in the region.
An electronic medium has also been created for people to contact various people at the RCC and other districts as well as through the electronic webmail.
The culture of the people of the region is also been advertized to the international community through the display of pictures portraying the cultural background of the people.
In a brief speech before the official launch of the website, the Upper West Regional minister, Dr. Ephraim Avea Nsoh stated that the region is the first among the few regional coordinating councils in the country to have a functional and interactive website is great news.
He said the site is a necessary tool not only to ventilate their views and happenings around them and in the global world, but for them to showcase the region’s richness and challenges in order to build partnerships that are mutual and will serve their interest.
He cautioned Municipal and District Assemblies that his administration will no longer accept their poor responses to directives from RCC, MLGRD and the Presidency.
"In spite of the several requests to submit information to this office for inclusion in the webpage, not only did they submit the information very late but even as I speak now, a few of them have failed to submit their profiles,’’ the minister added.
The Chief Director of the RCC, J. B. Atogiba appealed to departmental heads in the region to take advantage of the situation in order to sell their departments. The address of the website is www.rcc-wa.org
