Reports reaching Myjoyonline.com indicate that Veteran Ghanaian actor George Williams has passed on.
The actor died Monday morning at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
The 87-year-old actor is said to have complained of some undisclosed ailment and was rushed to the hospital Sunday where he died.
One of the pioneers of the Ghanaian movie industry, the ‘Ultimate Paradise’ actor is known for his grandpa roles in movies.
George Williams taught at the Accra Film School for some time. He has been off the screens for some time now.
Apart from Ultimate Paradise series, he featured in well-known productions like ‘Bloody Kids’, Mama, Dogo Yaro and a host of others.
Affectionately called Uncle George, George Williams was married with five children.
The British-trained actor was arguably an unrivaled authority in film-making.
