A High Court in Wa has sentenced a notorious armed robber, Baari Saalu and one other person to death by hanging.
Baari Saalu, a Burkinabe was found guilty of murdering his friend by a seven member jury headed by Justice Kinsley Coomson.
According Rafiq Salam, Joy FM’s Upper West Regional Correspondent the accused pleaded guilty of shooting at close range a man he claimed had betrayed him.
He had earlier been arrested in 2006 for stealing a cattle and deported to Burkina Faso only for him to resurface two years later.
He has been on the wanted list of both Burkinabe and Ghanaian security operatives for several gun point robberies.
The court also sentenced one Daman Yawanaa to death by hanging for clubbing a woman to death.
Another who was accused of man slaughter was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
