A 25-year-old student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration has been confirmed dead after a wall in her Achimota residence tumbled in the midst of Tuesday night's torrential rain.
Abigail Opoku Adjei was said to be escaping the torrents that had taken over her house.
Her father, who confirmed the death to Joy News, said the deceased was found under the debris shortly after the rain had subsided.
She drew her father's attention to the 'takeover' of the house by the flood waters before meeting her untimely death.
A friend of the deceased's, told Myjoyonline.com family members had besieged the house, wailing uncontrollably.
Her mother looked distraught and disorganized but the father appeared relatively calm, he reported.
The floods have turned the deceased's family house into a land fill site with thick mud and personal belongings strewn around the vicinity.
