Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo has officially apologised for speaking ill of people who watch movies.
The actor stated in an interview that people who watch movies for more than an hour are lazy.
This sparked criticism on social media, leading to the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) rendering an apology on his behalf.
Speaking on Prime Morning on Friday, the actor pleaded for forgiveness from movie lovers. He said his statement was misinterpreted by the media.
"I haven’t stopped acting. So, if I’ve said anything that offends anyone, I plead that they should forgive me. I didn’t mean to offend anyone because I had my own reasons," Yaw Dabo apologized.
He believes that, because the deed has already been done, one should apologise rather than offer numerous explanations.
As to why FIPAG had to issue an earlier apology on his behalf, he clarified that it was a mutual agreement between himself and FIPAG.
"The FIPAG president called me to confirm the publication, and I explained. So, I pleaded that they should publish a letter of apology on my behalf, and he agreed because he believes that I’ve never done something like that," he said.
Meanwhile, the actor is looking forward to properly explaining and clarifying his comment to the public when the time is due.
