Concerns over Ghana's aviation safety are escalating after a helicopter, registration number 9G-AFW, was forced into its second emergency landing in two weeks.
This incident comes amidst national mourning following a fatal helicopter crash on August 6th that claimed eight lives.

The latest unscheduled landing of the 9G-AFW occurred on Monday, August 11th, at Nkawkaw, Ampekrom, in the Eastern Region.
While no injuries were reported, the repeated emergency stops of the same aircraft within a short timeframe have intensified questions about the safety of air travel.
The same helicopter was forced into an emergency landing in the Central Region on the same day the Ghana Armed Forces military aircraft crashed, killing eight persons.
An eyewitness described seeing the helicopter "moving in the sky slowly. It went up, came down a bit and moved backwards," before landing within the community.
The sight prompted local inhabitants to rush to the scene.
This string of events, particularly the recurring issues with the 9G-AFW helicopter and the recent deadly crash, is fuelling public apprehension and calls for a thorough review of aviation safety protocols in the country.
