Asante Kotoko suffered their first defeat of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League at Bibiani GoldStars courtesy of an Eric Bosomtwi stunner on Saturday.
The 2-1 loss at Dun’s Park means the Porcupine Warriors have one point from a possible six, after drawing their opening game against Heart of Lions.
GoldStars also have their first win of the season after losing to Berekum Chelsea in their first game last weekend.
Prince Kwabena Owusu headed Michael Osei’s hosts into the lead from a cross into the middle of the box six minutes after the hour mark.
Eight minutes later, substitute Sherif Mohammed drew Asante Kotoko level with a finish from close range.
Bosomtwi won all three points for GoldStars with a stunning long-range strike that has goalkeeper Frederick Asare pegged to his position in the 74th minute.
The home side had two goals disallowed for an infringement on the goalkeeper and an offside.
