A 25-year-old trader, Rocky Feller Asiamah, has been remanded in prison custody by the Tarkwa circuit court for sexually abusing a 16 year old girl at Asankragwa.
He pleaded not guilty and will re-appear before the court on March 11, 2011.
Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Albert Adiita, told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on December 6 last year, the victim was sent by her father, Emmanuel Odomey, the complainant to collect money from his district manager for him.
On her way back, the accused met and proposed love to the victim, but she refused.
According to the prosecutor, Asiamah then requested the victim to accompany him to his house to have some dialogue.
On reaching the house at about 15:00 hours, the accused lured her into his room, offered her a drink and as soon as she drunk it, she fell asleep.
When she woke up five hours later, she realized that she had been sexually abused.
DSP Adiita said a report was made to the police and the complainant was issued with police medical report form to send the victim to the hospital, at Asankragwa where it was confirmed that she had been defiled.
