Two hundred and fifty (250) young people in the Amasaman community and its environs are set to benefit from the next phase of Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP).
The YAP is an initiative by Sinapi Aba Savings and Loans meant to address social vices and unemployment in its operational areas.
This year’s program targeted at 250 youth in the Amasaman area will undergo a three-year training program in selected vocational and technical programs of their choice.
With the rate of unemployment in the country, officials of the bank say it will continue to invest into technical and vocational education through its Youth Apprenticeship Program.

Chief Programs Officer, Joyce Owusu-Dabo, said more than hundred young ladies will benefit from the program with skills needed to support their operations.
She spoke to Joy Business at the Launch of its Amasaman Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Since the program’s inception more than five years ago, more than four thousand (4,000) young people across the country have benefited.

Beneficiaries are given start-up equipment and materials related to the choice of vocational or technical training, to undergo the training program.
Mrs Owusu-Dabo revealed that the trainees intermittently will receive capacity building training to further equip them with other soft skills.
The training program is a continuous collaboration with Opportunity International Canada.
