The Wa Circuit Court has sentenced two persons accused of robbery to a combined prison sentence of 33 years.
Ibrahim Kassim, 30 and Salifu Dauda, 28 were hauled before the court for robbing their victims at gunpoint and taking all their personal belongings from them.
The irony of the case is that one of their victims happened to be the girlfriend of Salifu Dauda, the second accused.
The two accused persons are ex-convicts. The first accused, Ibrahim Kassim previously served a 10-year prison term at the Nsawam Prison for robbery while Salifu Dauda served a 14-month sentence at the Wa Prison for stealing.
Kassim pleaded guilty to robbery, however, the court entered a not guilty plea for him and was handed a 15-year sentence. Dauda, on the other hand, was handed an 18-year sentence.
