Three Ghanaians have been shot in Libya but are still alive, according Foreign Affairs Minister Muhammed Mumuni. It is unclear who shot them but the Mr Mumuni told Parliament Wednesday the three were entangled in the pro and anti-Gaddafi riots in Libya. Briefing the House, the Minister said 105 Ghanaians are expected in the country by midday. He stated that four bus loads of people numbering about 200 are heading for the Libya-Egypt border to be evacuated. A thousand more are gathered at the Tripoli International Airport to be flown home, he said, adding that there are about 15,000 Ghanaians in Libya currently. Mr Mumuni denied claims that the evacuation committee is charging 300 dollars from each evacuee before processing them for home, describing the allegation as a ‘discredited rumour’ aimed at sabotaging the evacuation exercise. The Minister also denied allegations that some Ghanaians were being used as mercenaries to fight for embattled President Muammar Gaddafi of Libya.
