Maritzburg United are reportedly ready to listen to offers for their Ghanaian defender Mohammed Awal – but only from overseas teams.
The 24-year-0ld former Asante Kotoko player has been heavily linked with a move to Orlando Pirates, while Mamelodi Sundowns have also been touted as a possible destination.
However, Maritzburg team manager Quinton Jettoo says getting Awal overseas is the main priority.
“There has been some interests in Europe, but at this stage we can’t reveal the names of the clubs,” he told KickOff.com.
“We have not yet been approached by any local team – it’s all been media hype.
“His main priority at the moment is going overseas, and being selected for Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Sudan will help with that.”
Mohammed has been included in the 24-man squad for this month’s World Cup qualifier against Sudan on March 24.
