Lawyers for the Electoral Commission are expected to continue with their cross examination of the second petitioner, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, at the on-going election petition hearing today.Judges at the court had to adjourn the case much earlier than expected last Thursday after the EC’s lawyer, James Quarshie Idun complained of fatigue. The petitioners are asking the court to annul more than four million votes they say were added to President Mahama’s votes as against those of Nana Akufo Addo in the 2012 polls. In a related development, the New Patriotic Party’s Nana Akufo Addo says he is ready to accept any ruling the Supreme Court will make on the case.He made the commitment in a meeting with Germany's Foreign Minister, Dr Guido Westerwelle, in Accra. The German envoy commended the NPP’s 2012 presidential candidate, for choosing to contest the results of the polls in court and not inciting his followers and supporters to take up arms.
