A forty two year old man has been remanded in police custody for killing his grandmother.
The suspect, Michael Dakodzi who hails from Fiakpokope in the Akatsi South District, believed his grandmother was a witch and had caused him to suffer from elephantiasis.
He also thought she was the one behind his retrogression in life.
Michael is alleged to have hit his grandmother several times on the head with a club until she died.
Akatsi Police Commander, Superintendent Dennis Fiakpui told Joy News the suspect is temporarily being held for murder until investigations are concluded.
The body of the deceased, he added, is “at the morgue and will soon be conveyed to the police hospital for post mortem.”
