Ghanaian multiple award winning music artiste, Michael Kwesi Owusu Addo popularly known on stage as Sarkodie, has paid a surprise visit to the offices of mobile telecoms operator Tigo. Tigo and Sarkodie have over the past couple of months partnered in a couple of entertainment and corporate responsibility initiatives including the Sarkodie Rapperholic Tour 2013 and other activities by Sarkodie’s foundation. The Head of Marketing at Tigo, Tenu Awoonor stressed on the immense benefit the union has brought to both parties. He believed that the visit by Sarkodie will go a long way to further strengthen their new found relationship. During his visit, officials of Tigo took the opportunity to give Sarkodie a front row tour of their operational facilities and also afforded employees of the company an opportunity to interact with the Black Entertainment Television (BET) award recipient. Speaking after the tour, Sarkodie said this was an opportunity to extend his appreciation to Tigo for being a part of the Rapperholic Tour 2013 and also supporting his foundation. Tigo and Sarkodie will be storming Koforidua, the Eastern regional capital this weekend, July 27, with the 4th leg of the Rapperholic Tour at Koforidua stadium. This show will see Sarkodie and Tigo join forces to put up a never seen before concert in Koforidua laced with intermittent surprises the tour has presented to revelers so far. The Rapperholic Tour 2013 has toured Kwahu, Tamale and Cape Coast with Tigo partnering for the Cape Coast and Kwahu editions. Both shows pulled thousands of music lovers who were treated to three hours of non-stop live performances by the nation’s number one rapper. The two events also saw interesting engaging activities like the Mimic Sarkodie competition, where patrons were given the opportunity to mimic him and win prizes from the Tigo Free Bonto Azonto competitions moderated by Sarkodie himself. The Tigo Rapperholic Tour 2013 experience will be visiting Ho, Sunyani, Kumasi and finally Accra later in the year.
