Dear Myjoyonline, It has been memorable working with you for the past eight weeks. You have given me hope and I thank God for the wisdom each of you has imparted into me. Honestly I don't know what exactly to write in this letter but as Jerry advised, I will just flow. I walked into the myjoyonline office on Friday the 5th of July. I was called for just an interview; I did have the interview with Elvis, but did not know that day was going to be the beginning of a great experience. Elvis handed me over to Malik, I was a bit uncomfortable with the highly testosterone driven environment I found myself in. Six men!!! That was my reaction; moreover they are all older than me. How will I survive? Little did I know that it was the beginning of great friendships. Now allow me to take my time and talk about my relations with every single one. Elvis, my first encounter with Elvis was the interview. Right from his appearance, I could feel the aura of responsibility around him. Sorry to those of you who believed him when he introduced me as his sister. As time went on, Elvis really became like a brother. Thank you so much Elvis. Malik, Malik, Malik, hmmmmmmmm. I honestly did not like Malik the first day I met him. He appeared pompous and bossy, well; he is the boss and master of 'diabolical' statements. Malik is good at polishing insults, you will feel insulted but he will manage to convince you that he did not insult you. Scenario Malik: you acted irresponsibly Me; so I am irresponsible now? Malik: no, I didn't say you are irresponsible, I meant your action was irresponsible. What I learnt from Malik is choice of words. He has taught me how to watch my words. One more thing Malik, you will make a damn good lawyer. JERRY!!!! There was something about Jerry; I just could not point out what exactly it was. He has this cunning smile and only God knows what runs through his head as he sits in his corner watching everyone. I will miss the early morning kenkey jerry used to sponsor. You have no idea how it used to make my day, makes me extra alert to find more heated stories for the lifestyle page. Edwin a.k.a Elder, Edwin made a very good impression the first day I met him. He offered me his seat since mine was too close to the air conditioner. Believe you me, I was freezing but was too shy to say so. The next few days, he showed me where to eat (literally showed me). My prayer for Edwin is that he finds that lady to help fulfill the dream of adding more flesh to his bones. One more thing, ladies, please do not be fooled by his innocent appearance, he knows just what to say to brighten a woman's day. In common 'pidgin' terms, "his mouth no die, he get raps papa". Nathan Gaduga, the c.e.o of Cynicism Incorporated! Ei, Nathan and his mouth! He can sell a sound minded person in broad daylight in the presence of the individual. When I look at Nathan, I see a man filled with sweetness but has not discovered how to fully use that 'sweetness'. Most definitely, he will find that lady to squeeze all out of him. Nyavor, I tried to avoid a lunch date with him, but you can never run forever. I finally had to concede. Do not get me wrong here, there is nothing wrong with George but I am very uncomfortable when someone I barely know spends money on me. All I can say is George should take it easy on the ladies. They won't was just awesome and during my attachment, I knew I could always rely on him. Thanks for being there George! Ernest Dela Aglanu, face of myjoyonline. As I sat at the reception area, waiting for my interview. I heard people talking about a man called Dela and his crooked back (this was as a result of a medical screening of the spinal cord taking place at the Joy FM premises). Later in the day, I was introduced to Dela but this guy did not have a crooked back. Almost everyone told me to be careful of him, saying he is a womanizer. I will remember Dela because of his dance moves and passion for his work as an entertainment journalist. He is very good at what he does, just that he needs to take off his mr-know-it-all hat at times. Thank you so much for the Oreos, you have no idea how happy I was when you gave them to me! One more thing, Go to church! Isaac dear, I did not really spend much time with Essel but during the short time we had. He never hesitated to point out my mistakes and made sure I corrected them. Though I won't see you before I leave myjoyonline, I will miss you and the 'bofrot' you used to buy for all of us every morning. I bet you, they are the best I have tasted so far. Uncle Dave the photographer. Uncle Dave never went straight to the point; he usually adopted the style of speaking in parables. He seemed to have something against the friendship between Edwin and I. Well; I wish him well and hope his 'heavy' laptop is changed so it stops spoiling his bag. Ha-ha! Adwoa Gyasiwa, I liked her on the onset, she is very frank and I learnt some basic life lessons from her during my first and only assignment at Access Bank. Sorry I cannot share all what I learnt but can quote her on just this one "it comes to a point in a man's life where car is a necessity". Wink! Dorcas, I don't have much to say about her because I did not spend much time with her. She also taught me a thing or two. She was married to almost all the guys at myjoyonline and always asked me to stay away from them. All too soon, I will be gone and you wouldn't have to worry. They are all yours mademoiselle! Well, I guess that is just a brief summary about my encounters and perceptions about the team. It was great working with you and on a serious note, I will miss you all! Whenever I log on to myjoyonline, I get this nostalgic feeling. It was great being part of such a loving family. It has been a great experience, from Dorcas' warnings , Nathan's cynicism and lessons on hugs, Fiifi's complaints of my Pentecostal hugs, lawyer Malik's 'admiration' for the government, George's white man's disease, Jerry's kenkey, Dela's entertainment analysis and copyright over the entertainment page, Edwin's sweet talks, chit chats and diabolism, Adwoa's odd news, Elvis' pressure, Isaac's 'bofrot' ,tales from uncle Dave and of course disappointing moments from the back end. It has been 'fantabulous'. I love you all!! Kiss! Kiss!
