Sierra Leone have pulled out of a friendly with Egypt set for Saturday September 28, 2013 due to security concern.
Egypt were supposed to play two friendly matches ahead of their crucial match against Ghana next month in Kumasi.
Response
Egypt Assistant coach Diaa El Sayed revealed that Sierra Leone has backed out of the friendly.
-Sierra Leone sent us a response last night saying they will not come to Egypt after their players refused to move because of the security concern. This now means our preparations for Ghana are in danger, Diaa said to supersport.com.
-In as much as we still have another friendly match against Namibia we don't know when we will play it yet. Based on this we will now search for new team instead of Sierra Leone.
Forge ahead
-We are used to these things happening to us and will forge ahead. We will continue to do our homework while the players train hard, he added.
About playing their second leg against Ghana in Cairo Diaa said - The technical staff and the players are happy to play the clash in Cairo and front of our fans , that is very important for us.
