A Ho circuit court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siammeh on Friday sentenced Mawuli Agorbu, a farmer at Takpa near Kpetoe in the Adaklu Anyigbe District, to 12 months imprisonment for stealing.
He pleaded guilty to stealing and attempting to sell a stolen sheep.
Mr Emmanuel Okudzeto, Chief Inspector of Police, told the court that Agorbu stole a female sheep worth GH¢20 on February 15 belonging to one Aku Dzanta at Dakpa and took it to Ziope.
He said Doh Amanda, a bar Keeper who Agorbu attempted selling the sheep to, became suspicious and questioned Agorbu in the course of which he (Agorbu) fled.
Mr Okudzeto said Agorbu was arrested by people around the bar and handed over to the Police.Source: GNA
