Mr Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong, Inspector General of Police (IGP), has charged Police men and women to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He also called on them to collaborate with the public, especially traditional authorities, in their efforts to maintain law and order in society.
Mr Acheampong was inaugurating two Police stations and barracks at Sefwi-Anhwiaso and Subriso, built a total cost of GHC1.6 million at separate functions at the weekend.
The projects were funded by the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly with part of its Common Fund.
The IGP urged the public to refrain from unnecessary confrontation with the police when there was a problem but to rather cooperate with them to find a peaceful solution to issues.
Mr Kingsley Adjei Manu, District Chief Executive (DCE), indicated that the Assembly intends constructing additional Police stations at Sefwi-Bekwai and Bibiani next year.
He appealed to the Police Administration to provide the Bibiani District Police with a vehicle to facilitate their work.
Mr Manu stressed the need for the Police to be circumspect and always work within the perimeters of the law and that of the police code of ethics.
