Wives of policemen in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday went on a protest match in Kumasi to express their disgust at what they considered as wanton killing of police personnel in the cause of their duties.The match, organised by the Ashanti Regional branch of the Police Wives’ Association, followed the latest killing of Sergeant Daniel Dorgbefu by unknown gunmen at Abrepo Junction on the Suame Road Friday night.The women, who wore mourning clothes, later converged at the Kumasi Central Police Station where they presented their grievances to the Regional Commander.In separate interviews with the Ghana News Agency, the women called for protection for Police Personnel, especially those on patrol duties at night.Source: GNA
