Mr David Quaye Annang, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, has appealed to parents to be good role models to their children in all aspect of life.
Mr Annang said parents must do more in inspiring and guiding their children to prevent them from taking role models that would turn them into social deviants.
He gave these remarks at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Trinity Congregation in Tema during the enrolment of 68 boys and 61 girls into the Boys and Girls Brigade respectively.
The ceremony also coincided with the presentation of certificates to 33 silver and 18 bronze award winners of the Head of State Awards (HOSA).
Mr Annang said it is the responsibility of parents to teach and encourage their children to become responsible adults adding that “what the children learn today will either build or destroy the nation in future”.
“Let us be committed to our children by showing them the values of life and other good things that will help the country to grow in future for they are our future inheritance’, he added.
Mr Godwin Yaw Konu, secretary of the Award Holders Association, congratulated the award winners for challenging themselves over the past one year.

Mr Konu said the award scheme provides worthwhile leisure activities and voluntary services as a challenge to participating individuals to discover their potentials.
