The flag-bearer of the NDC Prof. Atta Mills, says his party recorded impressive achievements in the Central Region during its administration.Recounting a few successes that the NDC chalked up in the Central Region, Prof. Mills said the party laid a sound foundation in sectors such as education and health, which led to a considerable improvement in the quality of life of the vast majority of the people.Addressing rallies at Agona Nyakrom and Agona Abodom, Prof. Mills said the Agona Nyakrom Senior High (Technical), Agona Odoben Senior High (TechnicaD, Agona Kwanyaku Senior High, Awutu Obrachire Senior High and Gomoa Dawurampong Senior Schools were all established by the NDC regime. He explained that the NDC also established the University of Education at Winneba to offer teachers in the country the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge. The NDC presidential aspirant further explained that the NDC also built the Agona Asafo Health Post, Agona Kwanyaku Health Post, the Central Regional Hospital at Cape Coast, and upgraded the Agona Swedru Health Post into a fully fledged hospital. He told the gathering that the NDC also extended electricity supply to numerous communities in the region to encourage the setting up of cottage industries."It is therefore not true that the NDC did nothing in the Central Region as being peddled by the political opponents of the party," he said.Prof. Mills charged the functionaries to arm themselves with real knowledge of the party's achievements since that would enable them to debunk the misinformation being bandied about by other political parties in the region.“Functionaries of the party should be able to compile all the projects that the NDC undertook between 1992 and 2000 in the Central Region in order to facilitate their campaign among the electorate," the NDC flag-bearer said.He called on the people to vote massively for the NDC in the December presidential and parliamentary elections since the NPP had impoverished them.Source: Daily Graphic
