A kumasi High court has sentenced a 22 year old Burkinabe to 70 years imprison with hard labour for armed robbery.Ibrahim Yusif was found guilty on four counts in two separate robberies.According to facts as presented by the prosecution, Yusif together with an accomplice Ahato who is now at large, went on a robbing spree on August 30, 2008, attacked a family at Nhyiaeso and made away with an amount of GH¢1000, jewels, mobile phones and other valuables.On 11th September, 2008 the two embarked on another robbery at Odeneho Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, but luck run out on Yusif, and was arrested.Upon interrogation, he confessed to have been involved in the Nhyiaeso robbery.Yusif was found guilty on two counts of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery for the first offence and handed 40 years jail sentence, on each count to run concurrently.He will serve additional 30 years in jail for attempting to commit robbery and possession of fire arms for the second offence.Author: Nathan Gadugah
