Some Ghanaian players kicked started their 2014/15 season over the weekend while others continue their already started league with Ernest Asante scoring in Norway.
Winger Solomon Asante also registered a goal for TP Mazembe who have pushed through to the semis of the CAF Champions League after eliminating Sudanese side Al Hilal on Sunday.
BELGIUM
Wing-half Nana Akwasi Asare lasted the entire 90 minutes for KAA Gentwho shocked Standard Liege 1-0 at their own backyard.
Frank Acheampong was an unused substitute for Anderlecht who posted a narrow 1-0 win over Charleroi on Sunday.
Midfielder Bennard Kumordzi returned from injury to play 79 minutes forKRC Genk who were held to a 0-0 stalemate by Lokeren who also started Ghana’s Eugene Ansah. He was subbed in the 72nd minute.
Full-back David Addy played 63 minutes for newly-promoted Waasland-Beveren who failed to win the maximum points at home after drawing 1-1 with Westerlo. Dutch-born Ghanaian Mitch Apau lasted the entire minutes for Westerlo and was booked in the 77th minute.
NORWAY
Stromsgodset’s title defence suffered another setback as Odd Grenlanddefeated them 1-0 in an away fixture. Ghana World Cup keeper Adam Kwarasey was in post for Stroms while Mohammed Abu started alongside but was replaced 6 minutes to full time. Manchester City youngster Nana Boateng was unused by Stroms.
Ernest Asante scored the opening goal for IK Start but Rosenborg crawled back to defeated them 3-2 on Sunday.
Former Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo started the game for Sogndaland lasted 63 minutes when Bodo/Glimt handed them a 1-0 loss at their own stadium.
HOLLAND
Ajax Amsterdam opened their season with a heavy 4-1 win over Vitesse Arnhem. Neither Leroy Owusu nor Kenny Tete was in the Ajax squad for the game.
Heracles Almelo suffered a 3-0 battering at the hands of AZ Alkmaar. Winger Edwin Gyasi came off the bench in the 63rd minute to play for Heracles but his brother Raymond Gyasi could not make the AZ Alkmaar squad for the game.
PEC Zwolle recorded a 2-0 win over FC Utrecht on Friday. 18-year-old Dutch-born Ghanaian Rodney Antwi sat on the Utrecht bench for the game.
Erixon Danso was not in the Dordrecht side that beat Heerenveen 2-1.
Powerful attacker Elvis Manu started the match for Feyenoord and lasted till the 81st minute as they beat Den Haag 1-0.
Kingsley Boateng and Jeffrey Sarpong were both in action for NAC Breda who shared the spoils with Excelsior Rotterdam in a 1-1 draw.

FRANCE
Caen have gone top of the French Ligue 1 after beating Evian TG 3-0 on their return to the French top-flight. Former AS Monaco defender Dennis Appiah played the entire game in central defence for Caen but Jonathan Mensah warmed the Evian bench.
Attacker Jordan Ayew was suspended and did not play for Lorient FC in their surprising 2-1 win at AS Monaco.
Andre Ayew was introduced in the 60th minute by Marseille who allowedBastia to crawl back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3.
Striker Kwame Nsor could not recover fully to play in FC Metz 0-0 draw atLille.
