Valco Hall bagged 137 points to lift the championship trophy of the Annual Inter-Halls Athletic competition of the University of Cape Coast held at the University’s sports grounds at the weekend.
Oguaa Hall took the second position with 116 points while Kwame Nkrumah Hall came third with 92 points.
In the Women’s division, Oguaa Hall came first with 108 points followed by Valco Hall at the second position with 98 points with Kwame Nkrumah Hall placing third with 73 points while Adehye Hall came fourth with 30 points.
Mathew Boateng of Oguaa Hall was declared the best male athlete in the competition.
He set a record in the 800 metres with a time of 1m.56.8 seconds to erase the previous record of 1.59.73 seconds and also came first in the 400 metres and led the Hall’s quartet to place third in the 4x400 metres relay event.
Edwina Nanevie also of Oguaa Hall was adjudged the best female athlete of the competition.
She set new records in the 400 metres and 200 metres led her team to place first in the 4x400 metres relay and was second in the 1,500 metres race.
Certificates were presented to deserving athletes.
