Esther Afeka, 35, a trader resident at Wegbe- Kpalime in the Ho Municipality on Friday appeared before a Ho Circuit Court for setting fire to a mango plantation belonging to a neighbour.
She pleaded guilty with explanation and granted bail in the sum of three million cedis with one surety.
The accused is to re- appear before the same court on April 3 this year.
Presenting the fact, Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi, Superintendent of Police, told the Court, presided over by Emmanuel Siameh that Afeka and the complainant, Francis Agboba, Former Volta Regional Commander of Police shared a common farmland boundary at Wegbe-Kpalime.
He said on March 15, this year Afeka went to the site to clear her land in preparation for the farming season and set fire to the land.
The prosecution said the fire swiftly burnt down the mango plantation belonging to Mr Agboba.
He said the caretaker of the plantation therefore reported the incident to the Police who later arrested Afeka.
