The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabeagya, Benito Owusu-Bio says he will withdraw an urgent question he filed asking the Youth and Sports Minister to explain the source of funding for a trip to Cote d’ Ivoire.Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak was expected provide answers to the question which was filed on Tuesday in Parliament.A number of government officials including the minister and some sports enthusiasts flew to the Ivorian capital Abidjan by a charted flight to watch the final match between the Black Stars and the Lions of DR Congo in the just ended CHAN tournament.Media reports suggested the trip was funded by the government but a businessman, Kojo Bonsu said he paid for the trip.He told Joy FM’s Super Morning Show he had been sponsoring sports activities since 1992 irrespective of which party is in power.According to him, huge sums were not spent on the trip as had been reported.Mr. Bonsu, who owns the Agoo Magazine said people should be encouraged to do the sort of thing that he did.
