The Osu Stand of the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium under rehabilitation in Accra, will be ready in the next three weeks time.
The metal framework on which the bricks for the seating arrangements will rest have been raised to the level of the May 9 Stand at the other end of the stadium.
The Contractors have started laying the bricks on the metal framework.
Jimmy Castagna, Technical Director of Micheletti and Co Ghana Limited, the contractors working on the Stadium told the GNA Sports that “the Osu Stand will look like the May 9 Stand latest by three weeks from now.”
The contractors are expecting the arrival of more metal frames to raise the bars at the Independence end of the field.
According to Castagna, fixing of chairs on the May 9 and Osu Stands will commence in June as planned and reiterated that work is within schedule.
Completion of work is fixed for October while the re-grassing of the pitch is completed.
Castagna said fixing of the irrigation system to the pitch and completion of the drainage systems to ease passage of water on the pitch is well underway.
The Ohene Djan Stadium is one of the four venues for the hosting of the Ghana 2008 soccer fiesta which are having new face-lifts as well as the construction of the new stadia at Tamale and Sekondi.
