Black Stars striker David Accam has backed his colleagues to defeat the Dessert Warriors of Algeria in the crucial Group C scheduled for Friday.
The game is of huge significance to the Ghanaian side as it would determine the fate of the side in the competition.
The first round loss to the Terranga Lions of Senegal has only piled more pressure on the boys to deliver and this is not lost on the lad who plies his trade in the Major League Soccer.
“The team is filled with a lot of quality players and I have no doubt in my mind that we would rise to the occasion come Friday. We have spoken amongst ourselves after the defeat to Senegal and we know the importance of this game and to the nation as a whole. We simply cannot afford to bow out at this stage. It would be totally unacceptable.
My experience from the first game has given me a lot of confidence and should I be selected, I would give my all to the side in ensuring that we bounce back from the defeat to the Senegalese.”
