Former National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has announced that the construction of a 30-bed Children's Ward at the Tafo Government Hospital has reached 85 per cent completion, describing the project as the fulfilment of a personal commitment he made five years ago.

In a Facebook post ahead of his 45th birthday, Nana B reflected on the journey that led to the construction of the facility, saying it began with a pledge he made on the eve of his 40th birthday to contribute meaningfully to healthcare delivery.

According to him, the initiative was inspired by the poor state of the existing children's ward at the Tafo Government Hospital, which had become a major concern for both the Ghana Health Service and residents of the area.

"Five years ago, on the eve of my 40th birthday, I made a personal commitment to God to fulfil one of the deepest desires of my heart: to facilitate the construction of a 30-bed Children's Ward," he wrote.

He explained that the hospital was chosen because of the urgent need to improve paediatric healthcare infrastructure.

"That commitment found its purpose at the Tafo Government Hospital because of the deplorable condition of its existing Children's Ward, which had become a major concern for the Ghana Health Service and the people of the region."

Nana B said he recently visited the construction site and was encouraged by the progress made, noting that the project is now 85 per cent complete.

He described watching the facility take shape over the past five years as one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.

"I am filled with immense gratitude and pride each time I visit the site and see the project nearing completion. As of my visit today, the project is 85% complete. Watching this vision steadily become a reality has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling journeys of my life."

The former NPP National Organiser expressed optimism that the remaining works would be completed before the end of the year.

As he prepares to celebrate his 45th birthday, Nana B said the completion and commissioning of the children's ward would be the greatest birthday present he could hope for.

He said the facility is intended to improve healthcare for children and ease the burden on families seeking medical care.

"God willing, I will be turning 45 tomorrow. There is no greater birthday gift I could ask for than to witness the completion and commissioning of this facility before the end of the year so that generations of children and their families can receive the quality healthcare they deserve."

Nana B stressed that the project was motivated by a desire to make a lasting contribution to society rather than personal recognition.

He said his focus had always been on giving hope to vulnerable children and helping improve healthcare services in the community.

"This journey has never been about me. It has always been about giving hope, preserving lives, and leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service."

He also expressed appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the project over the past five years, saying their support has been instrumental in bringing the vision close to completion.

"I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this vision, and I remain confident that, by God's grace, we will soon celebrate its successful completion," he wrote.
