The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has announced that all types of goods are approved for clearance at the country's seaports, despite the cornavirus lockdown in parts of the country.
In a press statement, the GPHA said importers, cargo owners, freight forwarders and all port users who have goods to clear are entreated to do so.
"However, in adherence to the social distancing rule, every individual who is eligible to transact business at the port will be given a special permit by the GPHA," the Authority said in the release.
Meanwhile, although business in areas restricted by the coronavirus have slowed, work at the Tema Port seems to be in full force.
Terminals at the port are operating normally with freight forwarders and clearing agents seen conducting business.
Joy Business is learning that incoming volumes during the coronavirus lockdown have appreciated compared with the same period last year.
