The New Juaben Traditional Council has brought an end to its protestations on the exclusion of the Council from the restructured Eastern Regional House of Chiefs (ERHC).
This follows communications from the National House of Chiefs and the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs indicating that the concerns being raised by the New Juaben Traditional Council have been adequately addressed to promote harmony and understanding in the ERHC.
Daasebre Oti Boateng, the Omanhene of the area had earlier questioned the exclusion of the New Juaben Traditional Area from the re-structured Eastern Regional House of Chiefs.
He had described the move as suspicious and unlawful as it “threatens the role and authority of Paramount Chiefs in the country.”
The New Juaben Traditional Council states that, now that their protestations have been addressed by the National House of Chiefs, they will continue to place their services at the disposal of the ERHC and will support all activities that promote the image of the House.
“We will work with the ERHC in observing all protocols that seek to bring unity and development to the region,” the Council stated.
