Give Me Hope Foundation in collaboration with My Help Your Help Foundation, has donated face masks and shields to residents of the Chorkor Community.

The donation was made Saturday under the “Masks For The Needy Campaign.”

The wearing of face masks have become a necessity in the era of Covid-19 to prevent people from catching or spreading the virus.

Along with the well-accepted measures of physical distancing and frequent hand washing, the use of face masks or face shields has been strongly recommended in this fight against Covid-19.

In an attempt not to leave persons who cannot afford the protective materials due to financial constraints, the Foundation in collaboration with its partners has launched this initiative.

In the light of this, Give me hope foundation and My Help Your Help Foundation, collaborated to make available 5000 pieces of face masks and shields to be distributed freely to Chorkor residents.

Through the support of friends, families and partners of these two NGOs, these items were acquired for this project.

The Founder and CEO of My Help Your Help Foundation, Nicholas Cofie said it is important to explore sustainable methods of reducing community spread.

The Founder and CEO of Give Me Hope Foundation, Wisdom Dordoe said the gesture is to support government’s effort in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

He added that the opportunity was also used to senstise members of the community on the need to use the masks and how they can stay safe using the protocols by Ghana Health Service.

The team also used the opportunity to educate the community on child abuse, domestic violence and teenage pregnancy as students are home due to Covid-19.

The residents expressed their gratitude to the foundation for the gesture.

Nana Oburu-Asankoma II, the chief of the community, congratulated Give Me Hope Foundation and My Help Your Help Foundation for the kind gesture.

He appealed to other NGOs, corporate bodies and institutions to come to the aid of the less privileged in the society and put some smiles on their faces.

The two Foundations extended their profound gratitude to Zeepay for being the main sponsor as well as to all donors, partners, family, friends and organisers for supporting them to save lives and serve humanity.
