Parents of the final year business student who died at the KNUST Senior High School have asked government to publish the findings of the two committees who were tasked to investigate circumstances leading to the death of their son.
In an interview with JoyNews’ Prince Appiah, the parents of the late Sam Leonards Richards said although the committees are done with their investigations, the authorities are yet to disclose the findings three months after the incident.
According to the father of the deceased, Edwin Sam Snr, the family has had several engagement with the committee but are yet to be appraised with the full details of the committee’s report.
“It is very painful, we are expecting that the outcome of the investigation be known to us,” he said.
Sam Leornards Richards, died on Tuesday, July 7 as a result of alleged negligence of school authorities.
Mr Richards who reportedly suffers from ulcer informed his mates about a stomach upset after eating lunch.
The issue was reported to teachers, but for fear of contracting Covid-19, they failed to attend to him.
Subsequently, Mr Richards died at a private hospital where his father managed to rush him to.
Sharing the pain of losing a son who was almost done with his second cycle of education, mother of the deceased, Comfort Baidoo said her life has never been the same after the incident.
“I still morn my son, now I am unable to sleep because it is as though the incident happened yesterday. It is only God who keeps comforting me else I would have been dead too. Now anytime I hear the name WAEC, WASCCE, KNUST, I get frightened," she said.
