Artificial grass experts, BLAG Ghana Limited, has been named outstanding artificial grass company of the year at this year’s Ghana Business Standards Awards in Accra.
The annual awards event which took place last Friday, celebrated organizations that are committed to remarkable business standards in their respective sectors across the Ghanaian business region and the world at large.
This year’s five-star dinner event was organized on the theme “Celebrating Organizations Committed to Remarkable Business Standards Geared Towards Sustainable Growth."
Speaking at the awards ceremony, the Chief Operating Officer of the company, Mr Eddie Dankwa, said his outfit has made strides over the years and is committed to contributing to the growth and development of especially the sports sector in Ghana. He, however, expressed gratefulness for being honoured for their efforts.
Mr Dankwa added that his outfit is keen on partnering both the public and private sector to provide community pitches with quality artificial turfs to help in the development of football at the district level.
“It is an honour to be recognized for doing a good job and we are grateful for the award. It is going to be a motivation to work harder for the future and we are ready for that.
“We have been working on some community pitches over the years and we are looking at partnering both the public and private sectors to help give more community pitches a facelift,” he noted.
Background
BLAG Ghana LTD commenced operations in 2013 as the first indigenous company to champion the commercial use of artificial grass in Ghana.
Over the years, they have engaged in projects such as the Tano North Sports Complex in the Ahafo Region, Apenkwa Community Park in Accra, the Karaga Park in the Northern Region, the Atonsu M/A primary school Park in Kumasi and the Dompim-Tarkwa Field among others.
The company hopes to expand its tentacles to all parts of the country with continuous partnership from the private and public sectors respectively.
